About Jith

Jith Paul is a filmmaker based in Ottawa, Canada, a producer, director, cinematographer and editor of several award-winning short films, documentaries and music videos. Most recently Jith directed ALGEBRA and was a producer for RELAPSE, both award winners at the Digi60 Filmmaker's Festival 2012. Jith also produced MOMENTS and POLAR BEAR LOVE, both semi finalists in CBC Television's Short Film Faceoff in 2012 and 2011 respectively. Jith edited NORTH BOYS, winner of the Founder's award at the Yorkton Film Festival in 2012 and THIS IS MY WITNESS, an Official Selection for the 2012 Amnesty International Reel Awareness Human Rights Film Festival.

Jith is a graduate of the television broadcasting program at Algonquin College and holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Waterloo. He was a member of the festival jury for the 2012 One World Film Festival.

Jith is the owner and president of Treepot Media Inc. and founder of the Treepot Indie Filmmaker Showcase, a celebration of work by local filmmakers.

Jith collaborates with local artists, musicians and filmmakers to broadcast indie content on a web television channel called Treepot.tv. Treepot.tv streams free content through iTunes in the US and Canada and was a nominee for the Best Canadian Music Website in CBC Radio's Searchlight 2011 competition.

Jith freelances as a photographer, camera operator, DIT/DMT and editor. His recent clients include Kublacom Pictures, Affinity Productions, The Centre for Equity and Human Rights at the University of Ottawa and Help Lesotho.
