Down from my camp in foothills Spain to find these 2 well thumbed books in free pub library. One visceral suspenseful evil other romantic idealist historic drama but both an escape from inane beach conversations.

Both books were horses for courses. One evil that exists in our world, (drugs, criminal fraternities & military hero’s intervention) Other romantic fantasy, kidnapped for arranged marriage Princess in ancient Saxon world. The latter is something I would normally have only begun to read as a youngster but stuck by sea hours waiting for transport to foothills it was welcome respite.
