want to devolping an Indie Ghost story...

Looking for people who are interested in getting together and developing an Indie horror movie, not so much a slasher movie, I think those are not as popular as they once were but straight ghost story....

Dillon Mcpheresome

Write me a note. What is a straight ghost story? Like the ghost and Mrs. Muir?

Christopher Ouimet

There are two things that I meant by a straight ghost story is a story that is about a haunted place, or item...EX...mirror, chair, etc. The other thing I meant by straight ghost story is a horror movie where not as much gore, but the film is a lot, lot, lot scary....I am not against a slasher movie, but a lot of them are really not scary...and it would be nice to have a horror movie that is very scary...I guess that point I was trying to make is it would be nice to do classic horror movie where you create a scary movie using acting, lighting, sound, rather then gore.....I don't have an issue with gore, I would like a different kind of story.

I just looked at your post about a ghost story. I've been wanting to dev+shoot a metaphysical horror film locally, so we should talk. I'll be at the Film & Media Exchange this Friday. If not there then soon, OK?

Dillon Mcpheresome

I like the metaphysical horror story idea. I am working on a story where a man has to deal with his inner demons. And you would think that fighting your inner demons would be more scary than a guy with a hockey mask. Maybe this guy/girl wants to do something good but he keeps good but the murderous impulse keeps coming up. But I think the alcoholic who has to face his/her inner demons can be frightening too. Maybe the demon is a physical withdrawal like DT's or hallucinations.

If you need a filmmaker with preproduction software, production and post production equipment. I'd love to take on your project. I'm in Colorado, so if that's a production nightmare, I can still do your preproduction. I use Movie Magic scheduling and budget maker, I also use 3D motion graphics software to create 3D actor and camera positioning to create your overheads and still frames, all we need is an internet connection. Let me know if I can be of service rjmmtv_206@msn.com. I am in preproduction on another film, but it's scheduled to shoot for two weeks in Mid November.

Serita Stevens

Sounds fun. Im a writer. Let me know how I can help

Christine Koehler

I've written one. More of a haunting story based on true stories of multiple personality disorders and cult activity. Won finalist at Cherub Films.

Christopher Ouimet

I want to write this story a little differently...And would like to write it with a group of people...And these could be done via skype if people wanted...I tried writing with a group once, it turned out well...What do you all think...We need a script that is marketable yes, but slightly different, I talked to a former excutive at maramax, and that is the first thing he asked me about another script Idea, and I did not really have answer....open to your thoughts on this idea, anyone interested is welcome....

Christine Koehler

This would be interesting, Christopher. Let me know what you do….

Dillon Mcpheresome

A marketable ghost story. Reminds me of the saying nobody knows nothing. I guess you would have to brain storm on the stories already written and go from there. I haven't done any research on this and many movies come to mind. Do you want it to be a scary ghost or a friendly ghost. A Blair witch or Bewitched?

Christopher Ouimet

No, Horror, not a comedy...something that is very scary but not as gory....

Christine Koehler

I actually have something like that. It takes place in an old Inn in Walla Walla, Washington. A young woman is somewhat haunted by the ghost of her great grandmother. Actually, one of the renters is being tormented by the ghost because he's trying to swindle the Inn from her great grand-daughter. There are some eery parts, a love story, and even a bit of comedy.

Dillon Mcpheresome

Ah the Woman from Walla Walla, Washington. Narrated by Ba Ba Wa Wa. All joking aside that answers the question I had. What kind of ghost story is this?

Stuart Land

How are you coming along with your idea, Christopher? I'm interested in how you develop your project. I'm doing the same thing, but I live in Thailand and am making an Indy crossover Thai ghost story with all Thai actors and an international crew from six countries so far. Don't want to hijack your thread, but just to wish you best of luck.

Christopher Ouimet

Stuart, Tai ghost story sounds very interesting, some of the best horror movies ever in my opinion come out of different parts of asian...I am still thinking of any idea that speaks to me...The first thing I am trying to do with this project is come up with a story that is a little unique, but still has some main stream elements that would appeal to US domestic audiences....I might consider possible adapting a screen play from a book, play or poem....Right now I am just brain storming mainly because I am trying to first finish two other projects before starting a new one....How is your story coming....

Kev Harte

Hi Chris, where will it be based. Have you got crew for it.UK based here, sounds like a great project.

Stuart Land

Chris, we're in pre-production with most of the crew in place and now casting. I think you're on the right track about coming up with a unique story first. That's exactly what I did by writing a script that will appeal to both Eastern and Western audiences. From that, we'll make a high value production from a relatively low budget.
