A New Hero in the Making?

Soooooo, I've been working on something. A possible new superhero film. Drawing off of some familiar tropes but completely original.

And before you say anything, yes, I know. It needs a different title. We are still in the 'throwing spaghetti at the wall" phase of this thing.

But I'd like to hear from you. Given the overabundance of superhero movies these days, what would YOU like to see out of a new, completely original, one? I look forward to your responses! Have a GREAT day!

I like the title and poster, Brandon Keeton. I'd like to see the protagonist lose his powers and everything, then work his way back to the top in a new, completely original Superhero movie.

Brandon Keeton

Actually, there's already that element in there! Lol! Great minds!

Brandon Keeton, As a life-long comic book reader and fan of the superhero genre, I think the key to creating something fresh is in how you subvert expectations. Audiences still love superhero stories, they’re just craving ones that challenge the formula or offer a new lens.

One idea I’d recommend exploring is researching popular comic characters who haven’t gotten the spotlight in film yet, not necessarily to adapt them, but to draw inspiration from their themes, arcs, or tone. Sometimes those overlooked characters carry the kind of emotional or narrative depth that can spark a truly original take.

What grounds your hero? What fear or flaw makes them human? And how does the world respond to their existence in a way we haven’t quite seen before?

Excited to see where your “spaghetti” lands!

Arthur Charpentier

I want to see smart, cruel, and charismatic supervillains in movies. I can't think of a single supervillain in the last ten years. Except for the Homelander.

Hicham Koriga

Really intriguing concept I can already sense this won’t be “just another superhero movie.

If you're still tossing around title ideas, may I suggest:

"The Other Face of Power"

It hints at depth, mystery, and the idea that heroism isn't always what it seems.

Excited to see where this project goes keep creating!

What Ashley said! I was going to comment but she said it so eloquently.

Great Poster Artwork and concept! Comments are exceptionally informative . Concept is where focus will have to be, whether from storyline to costuming and more!

Brandon Keeton

I just want to say thank you all for the comments. They are actually really helpful in this "throwing spaghetti at the wall" phase!

You're welcome, Brandon Keeton. Looking forward to seeing A Hero, Maybe!

Do you mean a hero maybe as in he changes his mind and chooses not to use his powers. Ooooooor do you mean he's a regular joe who doesn't realise he holds the power? Sorry to ask, I wasn't sure which way you wanted to go on this one....

Interesting question! Personally, what I’d love to see in a superhero film is something raw, subversive, and closer to real emotions. That’s why I started working on an idea for a 'Kick-Ass 3', not just more action, but a rebellion story with punk energy, neon visuals, comic onomatopoeia, and a deeper human core. For me, superheroes don’t always need to be gods or saviors; sometimes they can just be broken people trying to fight, survive, or even laugh through the chaos. That’s what would feel fresh to me.

Here is the link to my take on a superhero movie, I think you might really like it
