Slated

I'm wondering if anyone has experience with Slated. If so, I'd love to hear your thoughts. Thanks, td

Douglas Olsson

I joined awhile back and have attended two discussions at Soho. (you can attend once you are a Slated member). I love it because they are doing their best to demystify film funding. The rating on Slated help you see how much, power, clout, success the filmmaker has. I'm interested as, an actor, film investor and producer.

Hi Douglas, thanks for your response. I joined a few weeks ago and have found it a great way to learn more about potential colleagues and investors. I have a character-driven drama, Damaged People. Here's a link, if you're interested in learning more: http://www.damagedpeoplemovie.com/ td

I've found its not much different from other social networks. A lot of requests to promote other people's projects. A lot of chatter. Not a lot of action. Funding still comes the old fashioned way, beating the streets, pressing flesh, making connections, etc. Most of the "investors" I've run into on Slated aren't really. It generated some press for my current project though. A couple reporters saw the listing and then started a conversation... http://www.slated.com/films/55032/
