Happy IY FRIEND Weekend! Meet My Friend Kelly, the Comedian

Happy Introduce Your FRIEND Weekend! If you'd like to jump in on the fun, check out today's BLOG for the rundown: https://www.stage32.com/blog/Grab-a-Networking-Buddy-and-Make-It-Introduce-Your-FRIEND-Weekend

I've been chatting with my hilarious friend, Kelly Shanley (https://www.stage32.com/profile/700364/about)! Traveling, dating, and finally posting our loglines on our profiles have been popular topics, but the great thing about having a chat before you network is - only YOU TWO know the little jokes that are exchanged behind the post. Right, my fellow cat lady? LOL!

If you are a director or producer looking for more comedy material, definitely comment and DM Kelly! She's a stand-up comedian with a regular humor column with Medium and has penned a fun "Mom Com" called Wingmom. She just listed 3 new loglines, too, so definitely chat her up about those as well!

Me? Other than loving being a part of the Stage 32 Team (and getting to do fun events like this!), I'm keeping up with my Pre-Pro Podcast, moving forward with directing my short film highlighting "compassion fatigue" through the experience of a massage therapist, revising my Pixar-esque short "Spot Me" and my feature 'Damsels', and submitting my pilot 'FAIRE' for fellowships. Huh... I guess it's time to list my loglines, too! Thanks for your inspiration, Kelly!

I'm always down for meeting people who jive with my themes - I consider my material championing the "Inner Teenager". Has anyone seen Moxie on Netflix? Yeah... like that :-D

ICE BREAKER: Respond with a picture of your furr baby! Both Kelly and I have kitties, but we love them all! You'll notice MY furr baby is quite shy himself LOL!

Taylor C. Baker

YES KAY!!! I love Kelly! She is so funny! Also - you know I am always here for a fur baby challenge. This picture is Radio and I rocking a real "like mother, like son" blinky face in the Christmas episode of my baking show https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCcGKIlaluuS4xxtEgRViyVw

Karen "Kay" Ross

Hey, Taylor! AND - Hello, Radio! Always good to see him, although his expression when you hold him up is so, "Mom, you're embarrassing me!" LOL! I love this series you're doing - I can feel the pure love for the British Bake Off from your work!

Kelly Shanley

Thanks Kay! And Hi Taylor! I just subscribed to your baking show. Looks amazing. I love the Great British Baking Show and I love your beautiful aquamarine Kitchen-Aid mixer. Can't wait to check out your episodes!

Kay's kitty was so cute during our call it made me miss my cat, Remi, who I named after Little Chef in Ratatouille, naturally. (I'm just out of town for the weekend, we'll be reunited soon.) So here's a pic of my fur baby <3

Cherelynn Baker

Fur family challenge accepted! Beatrix at the beach!

Kelly Shanley

Beatrix looks like she's in her element at the beach. Just like me ;)

Ross Ostroff

Bella!

Cherelynn Baker

Love the muzz Bella! Yes Kelly Shanley - Beatrix and I are both part time mermaids. #beachlife

Karen "Kay" Ross

Looking back over these fur babies and all I can think now is - THANK GOODNESS FOR THEM! What lifesavers they've been through the pandemic! Did anyone get a new fur baby? I've been itching to adopt, but I'm not sure what the next one should be.

Ross Ostroff

Hey Kay! Just Bella and me for now. Although, i do have my next two dog names picked out. Of course, I can’t tell Bella this.

Karen "Kay" Ross

@Ross isn't that how it starts? Just a simple "If I HAD a pet, I would name her Suki" and then suddenly it's "I'm looking for my SUKI!" LOL! I just have to Woo-SAH my way through it until some tasks are tackled and I can make room in my schedule for a fur baby.

Also, Bella looks like a handful! LOL How big is she?

Ross Ostroff

She’s a Dane, but on the smaller side. Prob 115lbs. Ive had 4 - biggest was prob 150..

Karen "Kay" Ross

Ooof! I once took care of a mastiff, gentle giant, and thank goodness he was - at 180 lbs., we were the same weight and he would have won the fight should he decided to chase a squirrel, much less another dog or person.

Ross Ostroff

Haha yeah if they wanna go, they go…
