Hi everyone,
I’m very happy to reintroduce myself.
I’m a UK-based writer of horror fiction (think creeping dread, rather than gore!). My debut novel ‘The Harvest’ was released at the start of this year, becoming an Amazon bestseller, and a finalist in the 2025 Page Turner Awards.
I’ve also had a bunch of short stories published in various anthologies.
Up next for me is meta-horror ‘The House That Screamed’ (June 2026) and folk horror ‘The Forest Remembers’ (2027).
I’m always delighted to connect with fellow creators, those who want to collaborate, and fellow lovers of horror.
Great to be here!

Hi, Alex Hunter. Congratulations on The Harvest getting released this year, becoming an Amazon bestseller, and a finalist in the 2025 Page Turner Awards! And congratulations on all your success!
I think creeping dread is scarier than gore. Too much gore makes a script, movie, show, etc. not scary to me.

hey Alex Hunter Congrats on 'The Harvest' becoming an Amazon bestseller and Page Turner finalist—that's impressive for a debut! Your focus on atmospheric dread over gore sounds perfect for folk horror. UK horror writers bring a distinct sensibility to the field. Welcome to the community, and looking forward to seeing how your work translates to screen if you explore adaptation!

Ashley Renee Smith thank you so much!
I'm deep in the weeds of 'Ash' a very gothic period piece of subtly supernatural drama right now and can see the movie in my head as I write! It's a lot of fun.
