Hello everyone!
Oh, it’s such a joy reading all your introduction posts. There’s so much talent, passion, and purpose in this community. It’s truly inspiring to see how many people here are using storytelling to connect and create meaningful change.
I’m Charlotte Verminck, a Belgian writer, director, producer, and editor. I recently completed my short film Mind of Thoughts, a psychological drama that explores the power of our thoughts and the quiet inner battles so many of us carry. It’s currently beginning its festival run and is part of this year’s Stage32 Short Film Competition, something I’m incredibly honored and grateful to be part of, especially among such passionate and dedicated storytellers. The film was shot across Belgium, France, and the Netherlands, with a crew representing 8 nationalities. It was a process that reminded me how powerful filmmaking can be as a bridge between people, perspectives, and cultures.
I come from a background that values personal authorship and hands-on filmmaking. I believe stories hold the power to move people, shift perspectives, and help us make sense of ourselves. My work often centers on the emotional and psychological layers of human experience told through intimate yet bold, character-driven narratives.
Beyond the creative process, I care deeply about building a kind, safe, and collaborative environment where people feel seen and respected. Whether through my production company or the stories I choose to tell, I’m committed to fostering that space.
Stage 32 has helped me grow not only as a filmmaker, but as a human; connecting me with others who approach this work with purpose and passion. If you believe in meaningful storytelling, I’d truly love to stay in touch.
So if any of this resonates, please say hi. I’d love to connect. :)
Cheering each one of you on!!!

Charlotte Verminck lovely to meet you and read you. I enjoyed the energy behind your words. Psychological dramas are my preferred genre and the international cast and crew makes it even more appealing. I also really liked what you said and agree with you that films 'hold the power to move people, shift perspectives, and help us make sense of ourselves'. I look forward to seeing your film

Charlotte Verminck Hi Charlotte, it was great to read your post and see someone doing what I aspire to do, and that’s work internationally on my projects. How did you find the process of pulling together an international crew? Did you also go down the cross-borders tax incentives and cash refund path?
