Your church is a great place to get experience. Now, find a 50 to 99 seat theater in your community and try out one of your plays with a "worldly" audience. As the church to be the producer? I know they have the money and it would be an outreach opportunity! Keep Going!

Do a series of one acts with a small theater group. They can use it as a 48 hour play festival. They get a group of actors & directors together and divide up into teams to produce the one acts. It can be a good fundraiser for both the theater and yourself! Then maybe they'll even produce one of your full length plays later on.
