On Writing : What after a pitch? by Candace Meredith

What after a pitch?

Hey all, I had my first pitch session with Jason Piette of Disrupting Influence that was set up by a Stage 32 email. How do I find out if my pitch was an epic fail or if he had any interest? Did I lose my one shot?

Morgan Aitken

This has come up before... S32 should make this clear, they take your money with extreme efficiency, then provide the feedback (service) you bargained for with somewhat less haste. Whether a video pitch or written, I've seen members getting emailed responses\checklists 1 day to more than 4 weeks after they pitch.

Sorry to rain on your parade, but it's like this, see: you payz yer money, an ya takez yer chances.

Hi, Candace Meredith. Was it a written pitch or a verbal pitch?

Sam Mannetti

Hi Candace, You definitely did not lose your shot! Jason (and any executive that hosts a pitch session) has 21 days to provide feedback on the pitches they received. Generally live pitches receive feedback first followed by the written pitches. We work hard to make sure all executives turn their feedback around in a timely fashion and rest assured if not we work with the executive to get you your feedback as soon as possible. If you have any other questions or concerns please feel free to reach out to me and my team at writerhelp@stage32.com. Always happy to help!

No such thing as a one shot, keep going Sometimes. You have to continue to pitch until you get good enough, or to get the attention of what you want. Don't take it personal just keep pushing forward.

Hi Sam Mannetti and to all of you … thank you for the responses!! I was nervous and I don’t feel I did a good job representing the work. I just hope it sounded like a great Thriller. Thank you all again, Candace.

Candace Meredith

Hi Maurice Vaughan it was a verbal over the phone pitch

Maurice Vaughan

Ok, Candace Meredith. Never mind. Sam Mannetti answered your question perfectly. :)

Candace Meredith

Okay, thank you.

Maurice Vaughan

You're welcome, Candace Meredith.
