Agents/msnagment

Do we look for literary managers/agents or specific screenwriter agents?

D Marcus

In general an agent who specializes in screenplays has connections with producers, prodCo's and studios. But many literary managers/agents have those connections. As you look research the agency. If you find a literary manager/agent who represents screenwriters and is willing to meet with you; do it. Do not limit your search.

D Marcus

Osaji, do your research. No need to send them to talent agents hoping that some represent screenwriters. Don't waster their (or your) time. Find out if they rep screenwriters.

Phillip E. Hardy, "The Pro From Dover"

Having recently worked with both producers and a literary agent, I say look to build relationships with anyone who A) likes your writing and B) can get your work in front of people that will read it. Also, like headhunters, people you connect with may also be associated with you for one property and if no interest is generated, move on quickly Best of luck!
