Thank you so much Stage 32 for selecting NO WAY BUT UP as a Quarterfinalist. And congrats to the other screenwriters who made it! My script asks the question: When you’ve been down on your luck for so long, how do you cope with finally getting a fabulous man and a spectacular life? I believe that Sophie’s character, full of insecurities and self-sabotaging behavior, will resonate with many people, especially women.

Ravish Me Later logline: Emily, nearly 40 and aging like a fine wine no one quite deserves, is quietly clinging to mythic romantic hopes. Just as she finally settles into an emotionally underwhelming 21st-century relationship…she finds herself absurdly haunted by the ghost of her Viking soulmate — a man who’s waited a thousand years to find her again.

Why Ravish Me Later will quickly develop a cult audience?
Haardrad, the Viking, embodies the ultimate masculine archetype — fierce, unwavering, and soul-deep, a lover who defies death and time to reclaim the woman who’s always been his.
At its core, Ravish Me Later is a defiant answer to modern dating’s shallow, swipe-right emptiness, offering a love that’s fierce, mythic, and breathtakingly real.
This isn’t just a funny rom-com; it’s a visceral wish-fulfillment fantasy born of ancient human archetypes — where the ultimate masculine collides with the deepest feminine longing to be truly seen, cherished, and chosen. That’s what makes it powerful enough for women to feel it in their bones.

Congrats everyone! So excited to have Stupid Cupid amongst the Quarterfinalists. I wrote Stupid Cupid for anyone that feels torn between wanting to find love vs being happy alone, my hope is it makes those who feel that hasn't been represented in the modern day rom com feel less alone.

Just wanted to stop in and congratulate my fellow quarterfinalists! Getting this news that my LGBTQ romcom "Do Not Disturb" made the cut during Pride weekend was chef's kiss. I wrote this story of brotherhood and love born from grief to show that sometimes our biggest mistakes can become our biggest blessings and that family isn't based off of the conventional constructs society places on us. Love is, and always will be, love. Good luck to all!

Hi from the UK and huge congratulations to my fellow Quarter Finalists. All the stuff I write tends to be romantic comedy, whether it’s long-running BBC TV shows or radio plays or movie scripts or novels. Ranging from the semi-serious to the deeply silly. Not sure why but as I’ve been married for so long, to my ‘childhood sweetheart’, perhaps something has rubbed off! I’m just grateful there’s a contest that recognises and respects the form. And delighted so many of my talented fellow writers revere it too.
