Trelby

I'm using Trelby but it doesn't seem to have options to underline or bold the selected parts of the text. Anyone here has some more experience with this program?

Craig D Griffiths

Sorry. But if I struggle with WriterDuet feature. YouTube is my first stop. There is always a video by someone.

@Craig

... true that, very true. The web has become a very useful tool.

There's a manual online. 5.2.1. Elements The Screen/Print areas hold four checkboxes, Caps/Bold/Italic/Underlined, affecting the text style for the element. Screen affects the editing screen, while Print affects PDF output.

Was thinking of using Trelby as it's free and I don't have the funds for Final Draft. What has your experience been like? What is it like to use?

Debbie Croysdale

I used Trelby only three times because all my computers had crashed and I did not want to put my payment details to update final draft in internet cafe. On my third try of this programme I actually punched the desk. @Kiril You are right, there seems to be no way to connect to any relevant toolbar buttons. There probably is LOL but you would have to read some massive manual first. There is a free version of Celtx and Movie Magic amongst several others. Google them all and choose which one you are going to use by trial and error. Happy writing fellow members.

David Melbourne , It's light and easy to download, doesn't have too much preferences but unfortunately I suppose it misses some of the crucial ones such as underline for stressed out words etc...best thing is that It's compatible with FD and you can export it as FD without having pages "cut down".

Debbie Croysdale , I've used Cetltx as well on many occasions. It does good for me as I can write and export in Cyrillic as well. But It's major flaw for me is that it's not compatible with studio preferred programs such as FD. Movie Magic haven't heard so far...maybe I'll give it a try. Thanks Y'all!
