Also, I know Jeff Gomez is coming out with a book soon (I think the pandemic pushed it back a bit) so that'll be another great addition to the list

I highly recommend "Comics for Film, Games, and Animation" by Tyler Weaver, which is about using comics to construct a transmedia storyworld.

@Frank Yeah Houston rocks! “Make your story pretty stinking big.” (Just one quote) and he really brings home Transmedia is an eco system of content that can build and grow in so many directions.

Artists are now even using commercial products as part of their story. Sorry can’t remember film Houston mentioned but a shower curtain had an invisible message on and you buy it then download a special phone app to reveal it’s secrets.

Debbie Croysdale " a shower curtain had an invisible message on and you buy it then download a special phone app to reveal it’s secrets." This is awesome and I want to do something like it in my transmedia stories! Thank you for sharing :) I haven't read all the books on the list yet (sigh;) and Howard's is at the top. I wish I could get all these books on audio, but I don't think any of them are available in that format.

Christian Nommay Thanks for this reference, Christian. It is now on my reading list. We have considered expanding my novel into graphic novels for a series of backstories, to expand the mythology. If anyone can recommend a great graphic artist, please let me know.
@Debbie I want them all in audio as well! I constantly wonder about how to get these niche books on audio in a way that benefits everyone involved… Maybe there’s a crowdsourcing idea here. We could get Richard Botto’s advice!
