Hey gang! I'm presenting my second Webinar for Stage 32 this week, and wanted to join the discussion Lounge to introduce myself and meet some cool people who work in the industry. I'm excited to be part of the community! You can check out my Webinar page for info and a bio on me. The Webinar's basically about using what I've learned working at an agency and production companies in order to craft pilot scripts that stood out and got managers/producers excited to read and meet with me: https://www.stage32.com/webinars/How-To-Write-A-Comedy-Pilot-Executives-... Feel free to ask me any questions about the webinar, my career, or to just say hey :)
Hey Mike! I notice that situational comedies are starting to seem like endangered species on the main networks. Is there any hope for the genre?
Welcome, Mike. I think I it is amazing that you guys here on stage 32 as well. So many people are going to benefit from that. Welcome again and I wish the projects you have going on all the best.

Thanks Antonio! And hey Michael! In regards to your question: broadcast network comedies are indeed having a rough time right now. The good thing is that the networks continue to buy a bunch of them each pitch season to try to find the next "Modern Family" megahit. I'll be talking in my Webinar a bit about what kind of comedy scripts network execs and producers are buying right now to try to combat the trouble they're having finding successful shows. So, while comedy's having a bit of trouble right now, it's not going anywhere for a while :)
