I'm happy to say my short screenplay APOCALOGUE (which I found to be a different, but fun, writing challenge compared to the features I've written so far) has made it so far to the quarter finals of the ScreenCraft contest. According to their website, over 2,400 short screenplays were submitted. Keeping my fingers crossed that this "baby" will, like its longer "siblings", make it at least to the finals.

Thanks, Pete! I've been lucky enough to do well from the get-go. But the thing I love about this writing format is there is something new to learn every day, whether by watching movies, reading screenplays, or from the many screenplay writing resources out there. Every writer has something unique to bring to the table (even the "bad" writers--you can really learn from others' mistakes) and it's wonderful to be able to tap into online resources. For a self-taught screenwriter like me, that has been invaluable.
Thanks, Kathryn!
