Just the medicine I needed this morning. Thanks for this, Anthony. The list of positives is great, the only thing I'd add to it is that it really helps prepare you with the patience needed for big league stuff. The point about being happy with moving forward and getting what you want in your terms and conditions is an important one too. I actually changed my T&C's for my shorts this morning to include a factor essential to me.

Thanks CJ, glad it was useful/interesting and the tonic you needed ;-) Agree re patience, it's one of the biggest learnings for me, if you think this game will give you instant, or even short term, gratification... well, then it won't... it's a long haul game. At least it provides plenty of time for the re-writes!

Thanks for sharing your article, Anthony! Insightful. Very helpful to me personally. We all need to brace ourselves for the business end of screenwriting -- the production realities, excitement and possible disappointments. It's a helluva an emotional ride. :)

@Noel - had a quikc look at Sundog, they seem to mainly do documentary/factual stuff, was there a reason you thought I should contact them? @Michael, thanks, glad it was useful.
