I'm a Vancouver-based producer/director looking for Canadian writers to collaborate with. I'm specifically interested in character-based feature scripts, modestly budgeted ($1-2MM), comedies, dramas and lo-fi sci-fi with minimal body counts. I know that there are lot of creative folks on this site, looking forward to making some contacts and hopefully getting some loglines. Cheers!

Jon - I've seen this many times and a lot of folk down here don't get it. Could you 'splain it for us? Canadian Producers only want to work with Canadian Writers (Crew/Actors...). I'm an American Producer but I'll free;y work with Canadian Writers, Actors, Crew... I assume it has something to do with your government subsidy program.
Hi Doug, I'm currently developing a feature from a British writer and am looking for American talent to package with it, but doing so means I can't pursue any government funds. To make things potentially a bit easier for myself with a second go around, having a Canadian writer opens a bunch of financial doors for me, it's nothing personal :)

It's government money. They gave set up a point system. You get points for Canadians in key positions. You need a certain number of points to qualify as a Canadian production. They want Canadian money spent on Canadian talent and creatives. Right?

Though Greg is faced with discouragement, finding a publisher, he becomes the success he presently is with the support of his family, especially his sister, Jane, Head of Department, Dr Tim Yale and friend, Harp.
