Introduce Yourself : There is No Failure by Marc Tucker

There is No Failure

Hi, my name is Marc, and I'm a producer (UPM) and still photographer. I'm about to try my hand at Directing for the first time. For a while, I've wanted to do a Star Wars short film about a Master teaching an Apprentice who has a different thought on the idea of "do or do not, there is no try". It all comes down to the Master teaching his Padawan that Yoda was "wrong". Luke Skywalker failed, not because he didn't succeed but because he quit trying. The Padawan finally succeeds at a technique his Master taught him and his whole world and perception is changed.

I've been working hard on preproduction and shoot in about three weeks. My crew is new to film, but I have great confidence in their abilities. We'll just keep trying until it's all in the can.

Walter Martin

Very cool! I like the concept of your short film. I wish you much luck on your Star Wars film and would be interested in staying updated on it.

Marc Tucker

Thank you.

Tim Dutton

May the force be with you. Don't judge me.

Paul Law Van Beaumont , with as small of a project as it is, I think our crew who are also in the lightsaber performance group I lead, will be more than substantial. ( https://www.facebook.com/lonestarsaberacademy ) There's not a lot of special effects on this one. AND if you catch the sabers we use in the correct light, effects aren't really needed. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yPIAOp_VlDs

I am one with the Force, The Force is with me.

Just watched it , good idea to film it at night , the sabers show up better , How far along are you in to the project ?

Marc Tucker

Pre-pro is almost completed as we shoot Aug 10th.
