Hey, my Stage32-ers and welcome to June's Introduce Yourself Weekend!
I'm K. Ross, the Community Manager here on Stage32. I look forward to hearing about you and your interests, maybe a little backstory into how you got started or were inspired to work in the industry, and, of course, who you'd like to meet and how they can help you on our way to success!
Most of y'all know the basics about me, so let's delve into some FUN getting-to-know-you subjects...
Current Series Binging on Netflix: Avatar: The Last Airbender (again)
Top Three Guilty Pleasure Streaming Series: Nailed It (we usually prefer The Great British Baking Show), Queer Eye (I was a HUGE fan of the original), She-Ra and the Princesses of Power ('cause when it's better than you expect, you just keep watching!)
My Friday Night Drink: Tonight it's Butterbeer, but generally I'm a fan of Angry Orchard Cider or a nice glass of red wine... or a German Riesling! Mmm...
Current Book I'm Reading: I can't tell you because I'm securing the rights to it :-D
Top Three Guilty Pleasure Films: The Last Holiday with Queen Latifah, Penelope with Christina Ricci and James McAvoy, and Beauty Shop with Queen Latifah - can you tell I'm a QL fan?
You've Got $5k and a round trip ticket - where are you going for the week/weekend? Oh... If I go somewhere I've been before and it's NOT to visit my family (I miss my mum terribly!), then I'll go to London with a layover in Boston and invite my friend in Paris to meet me there! If I go somewhere I've never been to before, then I think I'd go to Hawaii. I like the idea of going somewhere I feel like I can step away from my phone for a while! LOL!
Add your own "getting to know you" questions and answers to your posts - and I look forward to reading your answers below!
Oh, and here is my intro blog post for your reading pleasure:

Queer Eye is AMAZING and Jonathan Van Ness is so motivating! Love all that positive energy. I've been watching an episode every morning with my pre work coffee to ward off lockdown lethargy. Works a treat!
Tess Meyer Oh, that sounds like a fantastic morning ritual! Agreed, love JVN, although I love them all. I even got to see Karamo speak live when he did his book tour. Even now I can hear them - GET A HAIRCUT! LOL!

I'm currently binging DS9 on Netflix, and Bosch on Amazon Prime - one classic series , one modern. And for my top 3 guilty pleasure movies are: The Room, Road House, and Point Break.

Brian Carlin - Yeah, man, why not make getting to know each other fun?! Ooo, DS9 IS classic! I remember seeing it when I was a teen after being raised on Star Trek: TNG. Watching it again as an adult, I had forgotten how spiritual it was. Craft beer, classic, solid choice. Anything fun coming up for you in July?
HB Duran - Thanks, hon! Oh, cool, I'll have to check out Space Force - I do so love comedy and SciFi, so it should be fun! What a fun twist on rum & coke! Dude, SO many people have told me to watch What We Do in the Shadows - it's up soon! Cutthroat Island?! I saw that in theatres way back when but haven't seen it in a bit- I do so love Geena Davis. WHA?! You're in Denver? I studied film at Colorado Film School! What are you working on?
CURRENTLY ROCKING OUT TO: Erykah Badu Radio with Lauren Hill's "That Thing" playing. What about y'all?

Current Series Binging on Netflix: During the lockdown, I watched The Mandalorian, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina: Season 3, Chernobyl, Euphoria: Season 1, Tiger King, Don’t F*** with Cats, McMillions, Better Call Saul: Season 5, Little Fires Everywhere, After Life: Season 2, Westworld: Season 3, Hollywood, all three seasons of Ozark, both seasons of Succession, Killing Eve: Season 3, Unbelievable, Homecoming: Season 2, Mrs. America, and Defending Jacob. Now I have to watch the final season of 13 Reasons Why (I've seen the others so I have to see it through) and Watchmen.
Top Three Guilty Pleasure Streaming Series: I watch Fuller House but I hate it; I just was obsessed with Full House as a kid. I feel no guilt about anything else. I tend to appreciate what filmmakers make when they love what they're making, regardless of genre or intended audience.
My Friday Night Drink: Water haha. I do laundry on Friday nights.
Current Book I'm Reading: The Autobiography of Malcolm X.
Top Three Guilty Pleasure Films: I don't know if I consider anything a guilty pleasure. Mean Girls?
You've Got $5k and a round trip ticket - where are you going for the week/weekend? Internationally? I've never been to Europe so I'd probably be in London. I tried to learn French in case I"m ever in France but that didn't work out so well; I can read it but am afraid to try speaking it.
Currently Rocking Out To: The last song I had on repeat was "One Dance" by Drake. Before that, it was "Nice for What" which samples Lauryn Hill's "Ex Factor."
