Hello everyone!
My name is Jahnome McEwan . I was born and raised in Canada but I've been living in London, England for the past two years. I'm a drama/thriller screenwriter who is focused on getting into the industry to write for TV (be it my own project or assisting in others). I've been a creative writer from a very young age (ten years old maybe?) but rediscovered my love for writing when I moved to England with my partner to get through a rough patch in my life. Flying over, I began to write a novel loosely based on my traumas as a therapeutic method, but after travelling around Europe every month, the anger subsided and the novel changed. After completing it, I decided to create a series based on it. I always loved film and I wrote stories that were meant to be seen rather than to be read.
I never had any experience writing screenplays but after watching a few YouTube videos on format, I quickly bought Final Draft and the magic flew out of me naturally. I've written over 11 scripts (features & pilots) since the beginning of 2020 and I have a few more to hash out before the end of the year.
I have a formal writing education from York University in English, but I've always been gifted in writing and storytelling. I'm currently working towards a certificate in creative writing at the University of Toronto, just to get a tune up and learn the fundamentals.
My intentions for joining Stage 32 are to learn from others, join a great network, to be inspired by those who are where I want to be, and also encourage those who are just starting their screenwriting journey.

Jahnome McEwan ...towards Canada? I was in my mid 20s at the time, fell in love and followed my lady to Montreal. No longer in that relationship though. I was planning on moving back to the UK a few years ago, when my tour (as a musician) was about to end, but decided to remain in Canada. I'm near Windsor now.
