Advice on Following Up After Script Requests

Hi Everyone!

So after quite a number of pitches via Stage 32 and some query letters, we have gotten quite a few pilot script requests via emails or meetings. Some of them have told us how long to wait before reaching back out (8 weeks), but with the other people we have spoken to, one even via a meeting, we were wondering if that was standard? So does anyone have some tips, experience, or guidance on how long to wait before sending a follow up email in the case of someone you have been speaking with versus someone you haven't had the chance to yet besides a query turn "send me the pilot"? We don't want to come off as too eager or impatient, but we want to keep the conversations going that have started flowing.

Thanks y'all and hope you are having a good week!

Well, since I am just now putting my scripts out there a couple of days ago and haven't gotten any script requests yet, I'm afraid that I can't offer the tips but I wanted to offer the encouragement: Yay you for getting requests! That's awesome! Celebrate those wins! I'm excited to hear this and I hope you get lots of helpful info from the pros on here.

The skillful approach is to never follow up. You release your script into the wild and move on. If somebody wants your material you'll hear from them :)

This must be so exciting! I hope you get good news! I think 4-6 weeks is very reasonable.

D Stenard

I've heard recently that yes 4 weeks is reasonable.
