I've posted about this a few times in this past. I was hired in February to write an animated series. There were many delays in production but the first episode is finally live. There were lots of struggles with this project, as the company is not a traditional production studio and was learning a lot on the go. But they are happy with how the first episode turned out and have already greenlit at least 2 more episodes with me slated as the writer. I've already written and submitted the first draft of episode 2.
What's really important for me is that I got a solo writing credit. I have written numerous produced projects in the past, but all of them were commercials and shorts that went uncredited due to the nature of those mediums and their distribution. But this was the first production I've written that got made and had an official end credits sequence. I had to fight to get a solo writing credit, not because I didn't deserve it but because of politics. But I was finally able to get them to agree to it. I really proud to have finally made this step. My next major goal will be to get an IMDB credit without having to set it up myself.

This looks great, love to connect, I'll send you an invite. I've written and produced a UK animation series, production was in the Far East, and am working on other animation projects. Also, I have a marketing background as well.

Terrence Sellers major congratulations! This is a massive accomplishment. Can you tell us the backstory of how you came to be hired? I am sure everyone would like to know how that came together.
Jason Mirch My story is very roundabout but I think it's a helpful example of how writers really need to think more outside the box and stop trying to rush to Hollywood. And I'm speaking as an LA native.
I moved to Taiwan and got a job in marketing. This was years ago, but because of that I was able to write, produce, direct, and act in multiple commercials and as short. All this was as a permanent employee at a tech company in their marketing department. I then used this experience to get cast in commercials for other companies as an actor. I now do this semi-regularly on a freelance basis as a side hustle to build up my acting reel. All this experience and a BA in screenwriting helped me get scouted by another tech company in their marketing department that wanted to produce an animated series. I was brought in as a permanent employee of their marketing department, where I do multiple things including writing, directing, and acting in commercials, copyrighting, and writing and acting in this animated series.
