Hello Stage 32 community!
I hope your imaginations and creative mind are working overtime and each of you are writing like you can't stop!
As the co-host of the Thursday Night Pitch Practice Tank session with the amazing Brooklynn Fields, I've come to the forum with an announcement. Beginning tonight, 5:30 pm PST, 8:30 pm EST, Brooklynn and I will break story with our attendees who have signed on for this evening as well as continuing to help craft the art of pitching to our fellow writers.
Many writers have incredible ideas and stories for a script, but sometimes struggle with organizing them. Fellow writers may also doubt or question certain aspects in the script. This is why breaking story is so crucial in the development process. It gives writers the opportunity to talk about their characters, plot points, settings, goals, themes, tone, etc. and focus these elements into a script.
This is a new aid Brooklynn and I are providing after many requests from our Stage 32 community. Please remember that this, along with our Pitch Practice Tank, are to be booked inside the session. During the week's session, we book for the following week. Brooklynn and I try to be fair to everyone and only book for the following week. This is when fellow writers that attend can book a pitch practice or a break story conversation.
I welcome you to join us and even if you don't pitch or break story, you can listen to your fellow writers do it and perhaps you will feel comfortable to attempt either in the future.
My very best to all of you,
John.

This is a great idea, John Mezes! Looking forward to Pitch Practice next week and all of the creative things you and Brooklynn are going to do in the future!

Great idea. One thing that makes a pitch go as well as it can is practicing it and working with feedback.

Hi Maurice! Good to hear from you! I hope everything is good, and the projects you're working on are going great! No bigger advocate for the writer than you my friend. Please visit the pitch tank any time.
Thank you Ewan! Your feedback is truly supportive , and much appreciated. I hope your current works are going good and I wish you much success!
Hi Alec! Thank you for your interest in pitching during a session of the pitch practice tank. Brooklynn and I always encourage our fellow writers to try their pitching skills to our Thursday night community in the hopes of helping and developing successful pitches through supportive, honest notes. If you've already spoken to Brooklynn and she's added you to next week's roster then you're all set since she puts together the roster each week at the beginning of the session for the following week.
If you haven't heard back from Brooklynn yet about it, join us on Thursday the 25th @5:30 pm PST, 8:30pm EST. Sometimes there are cancellations and no-shows, so we do let back-up writers pitch.
Hope to see you there, and my best to you in your writing endeavors.

I appreciate the kind words, John Mezes. You too are a huge advocate for writers.
My projects are going great. Got some jobs lined up. Waiting to hear back from a producer who requested to read the script/pitch deck for a feature script and the pitch deck for my virtual game show. How are your projects going?
I plan to attend the Pitch Tanks soon now that some of my projects are calming down. I know I'm gonna pick up a lot of great pitching tips in the Tanks.

I'm glad to hear it Maurice. Filming on my feature script "Garden of Eden" is scheduled to begin in September in NYC. I submitted another feature script to a producer last weekend (fingers crossed) while still working on several other scripts and I'm beginning crowdfunding for a short script I wrote. There's also pitch practice sessions of course, and me and Brooklynn are doing a podcast together for a fellow Stage 32 member.

You got a lot going on, John Mezes. Cool. Hope you take some behind-the-scenes photos and footage for "Garden of Eden." :)
Congrats on the script request (the feature script you submitted to the producer)! Hope it gets optioned. Or better, hope it gets sold.
Let us know when the crowdfunding starts.
Is the podcast related to the Pitch Tanks?

Never a dull moment that's for sure, LOL. I'm definitely taking pics and sharing with my Stage 32 community family. Will do on the crowdfunding, and
I'm sure part of the podcast will pertain to pitching.
