I had a very successful Director/Screenwriter give me notes on my 100 page horror/comedy script. He wanted me to open the script with a completely different scene that I had originally written but from the point of view from my youth...I was stumped: for weeks. Then after thinking about a possible scene - tonight I think I got it. Again, it's based on a truly creepy event that my "4 year old self" witnessed in the family home. Maybe the Director pushed me in the right direction after all. I can hardly wait to get working on the script again.

It would appear to be sound advice. Always be sure to grab some eyeballs on page 1. Best of luck, Gerry!

Congrats on figuring out the scene, Gerald Paul Barrett! I know how it is trying to think of a scene and nothing comes. Sometimes I just have to step away from the script and stop forcing it.
And speaking of changing scenes, I recently rewrote the opening scene of a script. I knew it would take a lot of work, so I put it off at first, but I'm glad I did the extra work because the script's better now.

Way to stick with it, Gerald. I’ve often tried to think about not just what a note is but why the note is being given and if I can find that then the ideas follow. Excited for you to explore this new opening.

Love hearing that you not only took the note, but used it to break through to the other side. Being open minded is such a huge part of being a screenwriter. Keep getting after it, my friend.
