I am an English, Spanish, and Portuguese Language teacher/tutor. (Teaching is what I like doing, know how to do, and do it well.) It all started when I was eighteen years old, I was enjoying holidays and missed the date to enrol myself in any degree. (Barely any but definitely not Teaching). When I recalled it, I suddenly woke up in the middle of the night and went out to call Mum to share the sorrow. I was talking to her on a payphone (old memories), I remember –in pajamas on the seaside– when she, a teacher herself, told me not to worry 'cause she'd enrolled me for a Vocational Degree in Teaching. (Teaching?!) I simply lost myself. Anyway, I went to the first lesson hours just to sort out how I could move degrees but I ended up loving them and jumped at teaching. No doubt, that was a turning point for me. My perfect choice, perfect choice. I've always concentrated on teaching/tutoring full time but I've also taken some translating/revising/editing/proofreading jobs as a side hustle. Teaching/tutoring, I've found myself. Just think if I hadn't thought fit.
Fast forward thirty-four fantastic years and here am I with a new dream on the cards: becoming a great writer, great writer ten years from now.

Welcome to Stage 32, Kuka Roselló. I remember payphones. I used to act like I was talking on them as a kid even though I wasn't making calls. Haha What genres do you want to write?

Dalene, just thought I could use –in pajamas on the seaside– as a title (thanking you to have highlighted the phrase).
Thanks Benjamin, Maureen, Stephanie and Greg for the likes.
Maurice, if you remember payphones you could be as old as me. (But, I bet you are younger.) Loved imagining you as a kid making calls. :) I'd like to write realist literature (grounded on autobiographical reflection). Btw, how do I hyperlink sb's name here? (Not a Stage32-savvy.)
Adam, an enjoyable journey to all of us.

Kuka Roselló the imagery is beautiful and poignant. No doubt something you felt was stressful at the time but now sounds like a little nostalgia at the crossroads of that call. It's crazy how we fall into the things we love sometimes. Tiny little strings that pull us to our calling. So glad you're here and excited to hear more!

I didn't make calls as a kid, Kuka Roselló. I just played with the buttons, acted like I was making calls, and looked at the phonebooks. A kid's imagination. :)
That's cool that you write realist literature. Is autobiographical reflection like biopics?
You can hyperlink someone's name by putting @ in front of it.

Richard "RB" Botto, seeing the adjectives textbook, informative, and inspiring on the same comment really caught my eye. (For me, their registers are negative, neutral, and positive respectively.) Loved it. It inspired me.
Dalene, I am always amazed at how life keeps choosing next footsteps for me. And, looking backwards, I couldn't have chosen them better myself. How about for you? Oh, you found the imagery beautiful and poignant? I find YOU inspiring! I'm glad to have met you and be sure I'll be sharing some of my writing. Thank you for being. :)
Maurice, I'd understood you were pretending. (But, I don't like this word so I didn't use it.) Dare I say my book-to-be will be autofiction or autobiographical metafiction (eg. Joyce, Proust, Duras)? Tks for the @ tip (as simple as on Instagram). See it worked with Richard but it didn't work with Dalene or you. Do you know why? By the way, I speak English as a foreign or second language so, please, always let me know if I'm misunderstand anything or how I should rephrase something. Happy Saturday.

@Kuka oh my heart. I feel like we might be soulsisters! You match words with cadence so playfully. Can't wait to read your writings.
About the tagging...Don't worry if the name doesn't pop up. Use the @ symbol with the name even if it doesn't. It should still send a notification. I'm still getting used to how it works though so I could be wrong.

Kuka Roselló I love your book. I mean wow! What a beautiful almost dreamlike expression of Enzo's journey and Camila's tireless resolve to keep moving. You have an amazing little story here. Reminds me a little of Anne Rice. You have a wonderful ability to capture nostalgia. Thank you so much for sharing.
