Hey everyone,
My name is Vishaal Desai and I’m a director and editor currently in my last year as an editing student at DePaul, Chicago. I’m moving to Los Angeles for my final semester next month and was hoping to connect with anyone who might be in and around LA.
I’m also looking for a post-production internship and was wondering if anyone might know of post houses that would be interested in hiring interns.

Congrats on the big move, Vishaal Desai! I moved from Chicago to LA in 2015 and it was a whirlwind adventure!
The best way to network here on Stage 32, is to be more involved and active within the lounges on a regular basis. That’s the best way to be seen and noticed. The most effective networking comes from building genuine relationships over time. I'd love for you to pop into the Post-Production and Filmmaking lounges to share any tips and tricks that you may have with the community. Are there specific editing resources or software that you prefer?

Ashley Renee Smith Thanks for that suggestion, I'll definitely connect more on the post-production lounge. I primarily edit on DaVinci Resolve but I can work with any of them, including Avid.

Emily J So far so good! I'm currently developing a 5 episode web series and editing a music video that I directed. I've also been working as an editor on several short films that are at various stages of post-production.
