Movies which would work even better as a TV show?

I'll start...

THE TRUMAN SHOW !

Even though I love the movie and Jim Carrey and Peter Weird, I always felt a feature film didn't do justice to the crazy amount of plotlines and side stories and characters that the concept offers. Five solid seasons at least. I really hope it will happen in the future.

Which movie do you think is worth a full TV series?

Wal Friman

A Million Ways to Die in the West. Great mix of a big variety of really funny stuff.

Maurice Vaughan

A The Fast and the Furious TV series, Thomas Yazar.

Jim Boston

Thomas, now that you've posed the question, I'm wondering how "Hollywood Shuffle" (1987) would've fared as a TV series.

Sarah Jane Mc Carthy

I think the Truman Show would have been great as a TV show, this is a great observation Thomas Yazar I agree with Maurice Fast and the Furious for TV instead of endless movies, as with Pirates of the Caribbean and other films that have multiple+++ sequels

Thomas Yazar

Dan MaxXx OOoh i'd love to see that indeed!

Thomas Yazar

Sarah Jane Mc Carthy true! at some point, does it make sense to have four +100M$ sequels when you can just make the same boatload of money with a 4*12 episodes TV show ?

Marcel Jr.

The Millenium trilogy, even though it was incredible. The Saw series. Dune, obviously. I can't think of anything else right now.

Thomas Yazar

Marcel Jr. I could definitely see a TV show out of it. Lisbeth Salander deserves it.

Ewan Dunbar

It’s interesting during development when someone says “how would this work as a show?” The process then changes into expanding on the narrative, character journeys and world to see if it can support it in a longer form. sometimes it’s a yes and sometimes it’s no but either way you learn a lot about your project, characters and story!

Pat Alexander

It's sacrilege but The Godfather as a series would be iconic.

Chase Cysco

Minority Report : the movie's concept—of predicting crimes before they happen—has the potential for a much more in-depth exploration over multiple seasons, with different "pre-crimes" each episode and a deep dive into the ethical and moral implications would be interesting

Christopher Crofts

World War Z. I mean, it's even written specifically like it should have been a limited miniseries, each chapter its own episode. The movie is fine for what it is, but I pretend it has nothing to do with the Max Brooks book.

Travis Seppala

Chase Cysco Fox did a MINORITY REPORT series like 9 or 10 years ago. It didn't do so well. First the order got cut short (announced as a 13-ep season that then got cut short to 10 episodes after a few eps aired) and then cancelled.

Travis Seppala

I have a pitch for doing a TV series version of THE BUTTERFLY EFFECT.

I've also been toying with the idea of a TV version of ACE IN THE HOLE.

I'd also love to see a READY PLAYER ONE series.

Travis Seppala

Mike Childress Oh, is that that show on TNT? I read the pilot a few years ago, but I don't have cable so, while I was sort of aware the show had come out, I didn't know it was 2 seasons deep already! OOPS! lol
