Hi Nicolas Dekeijzer - these days, it could be anything form developing a full-fledged series around a fictionalized 'you' to starting a podcast to putting out vertical stories on YouTube... you name it. And the answers to these questions depend in large part on the answer to other questions: why do I want to tell it? what degree impact am I looking for? No matter how - I hope you tell it!
PS: there's professional, vetted guidance / webinars / labs etc. on how to navigate ANY form you choose as an outlet- so you've definitely landed on the right platform.
I wrote a feature film about when I played on the first varsity volleyball team in 1975 and proving that people would pay to watch the weaker sex play sports. Last year 92,003 people filled a football stadium to watch women play because we wouldn’t quit.
Hi Rebecca, thanks for the advice. Bit difficult as it happened over 40 years ago and I moved 4000 miles away from my beach town. Greetings from the Canary Islands ;)
Hi, Nicholas * Personally, I'd start by writing down the factual events of the story, probably as a bullet list. Who is the intended audience? Deciding that will help you choose your format (a memoir, a non-fiction adventure tale, a fictionalized story with a message, etc.) Next, I'd choose my medium: book, short film or feature script, podcast, documentary, etc., and then I'd get to work. We're all wired differently, so your system of "getting there" will be uniquely your own. Best of luck to you!
Hi Stephanie, thanks for your advice , really appreciate it :) thing is, it is a true story that happend to me about four decades ago, so I know (too) well what happend, the audience that this is meant for I have no clue unfortunately.
Can you write a logline that summarizes "the Hero's Journey?" Boiling down the main event and the consequences that follow to 1-2 lines should reveal if you've got a drama, fantasy, horror story, thriller, adventure tale, etc. If the story is truly important for you to tell, just start writing and see where it takes you.

Is there a beginning, middle and end? what's the goal of the protagonist and the obstacle? If you can answer those questions, you're on your way.

Hi Rob, thanks for your attention. The end is connected to a new beginning I guess if you read the story.
