Recently, someone claiming to be a producer from Singapore attempted to steal my original IP. He's still trying and he's got a partner. Said partner sent me a "wire transfer document" which is a worthless document.
Never accept any such transfers for your original IP.
Such negotiations should be done with an entertainment lawyer and all funds should be deposited into an escrow account until cleared by a reputable bank.
Keep all such communications by such people in a separate email file folder for later evidence in case you have to file complaints.
IP theft is on the rise and Americans are prime targets. Don't let yourself become a victim. Protect your work by registering it with the US Copyright Office and with the WGA. And always ask an entertainment lawyer to verify any offers or people making offers that seem too good to be true.

Claire Robertson, thanks. If that person is a Stage 32 user, you can definitely report them to support@stage32.com. I have done that in the past and Stage 32 was prompt in removing the scammers.
Thanks for sharing this with the community, Claire Robertson.

I did report it and the person who put me in touch with them in the first place. That person's account was immediately suspended. If you have any suspicions about something that seems too good to be true on Stage 32, you can always ask any of the administrators for advice and help, too. Thanks for posting the email address, Wyman. It's much appreciated.

Claire Robertson, you are very welcome. Stage 32 is a great platform for creatives. However, scammers and scumbags can slip through. The Stage 32 crew are good about showing the scammers the door and then tossing them off the roof.
