Hi, I’m Kat — I live at the crossroads of music and story. I write books, compose emotional piano-driven pieces, and mentor creatives through the messy middle of their projects.
This weekend, I’d love to know: What’s the most surprising path your creativity has taken you on so far?

Hi, Kat Spencer. Writing fan fiction scripts is the most surprising path my creativity has taken me on so far. It's fun, I get to write about my favorite characters, I don't have to think about the budget when I'm writing, and I use the scripts as writing samples.

Hi, Kat Spencer - I became a professional singer/songwriter in my teens. A while back, when I was still very active in the music business, I began screenwriting as a hobby to stave off boredom on the road. Directing my first short hooked me. Two more shorts , a handful of story-based music videos, and a half-hour pilot later, I'm presently developing my feature directorial debut. While I am not a fan of musicals, music plays an important role in three of my features. Best of luck to you!

I love music only wish that I had more talent at it. The most surprising path is meeting interesting people like yourself who are on their own creative arc.

David Dicaire - If you could play any instrument, what would it be?

Well, Kat Spencer, I do play some guitar and a little bit of harmonica. But, I am not an accomplished musician by any stretch of the imagination. I have many ideas about music scripts. Someday, I will actually finish one.

Always love seeing your introductions, Kat Spencer! Happy Introduce Yourself Weekend to you, too. For me, the most surprising path creativity has taken me on has been writing my fantasy novel series—it started as a personal way to process grief and has grown into this massive worldbuilding project that I never could have imagined at the beginning.

Kat Spencer, what is most surprising about my current creativity in the entertainment field is that it is happening at all. That only started in April. I was creative and earning money in California selling my paintings. I was creative in founding the first Jewish public library in LIthuania since 1943. Now I am on the creative path of scriptwriting and songwriting.
