Hello, my name is Dayana Pitroipa. I am an emerging screenwriter from Burkina Faso with a strong passion for character-driven drama. I write emotionally intense stories that explore family conflicts, hidden wounds, identity, and redemption.
My work focuses on complex relationships—especially between fathers, sons, and siblings—and the psychological impact of betrayal, responsibility, and forgiveness. I am particularly drawn to stories about flawed characters who are forced to confront their past and evolve.
Although I am at the beginning of my professional journey, I am deeply committed to developing meaningful, layered stories that resonate on a universal level.

I am currently working on a psychological family drama that explores brotherhood, betrayal, and redemption. The story follows a flawed man who is unexpectedly forced into a parental role, raising the child of the very brother he once resented. As buried conflicts resurface, he must confront his own insecurities and redefine his understanding of love and responsibility.

Hi Dayana Pitroipa Thank you for introducing yourself. I am wondering, if there are any authors who inspire you. Is there a writer you fashion yourself after, someone who writes stories like the ones you write?

It's great to meet you Dayana! Psychologically explorative work can be rich in layers and meaning. I write from a psychological standpoint as well, though thematically quite different.
Where do you draw inspiration from?

Hey Dayana Pitroipa great to hear from you! I love emotionally intense stories and complex relationships. Like the great writing advice says "Make it hard on your characters and it sounds like you've got that part down!"

Thank you so much for your thoughtful message, I truly appreciate it.
I draw a lot of my inspiration from human relationships and emotional complexity, especially within families. I’m deeply interested in exploring internal conflict, identity, rivalry, and redemption. Many of my ideas come from observing real-life dynamics and reflecting on how unresolved emotions shape people’s decisions.
Although I mainly write contemporary psychological dramas, I’m deeply inspired by historical films because of their emotional intensity, large-scale conflicts, and powerful character arcs. I’m fascinated by stories of honor, betrayal, and legacy — themes that I also explore in a more intimate, family-centered context.
