From Learning to Creating – My Creative Journey Continues

Hello Stage 32 community,

I would like to take a moment to reintroduce myself. My name is Charmane Wedderburn, and I am a writer developing projects for both film and books. I am passionate about telling meaningful and emotionally grounded stories, and I continue to grow my craft step by step.

When I first joined Stage 32, I was still learning and finding my path. Through webinars, courses, and community discussions, including valuable sessions led by RB and other members, I gained insight into both the craft and the industry. Like many creatives at the beginning, I made mistakes and sometimes doubted myself, but I learned that mistakes are part of the journey and help us grow.

I truly appreciate the encouragement I have experienced here. I still remember that at first I didn’t even post my photo, but the supportive environment reminded me that everyone grows at their own pace. That encouragement helped me continue learning, writing, and improving with more confidence.

Today, I am grateful to have books published on Amazon, a book signing event ahead, and a short film preparing for production. This journey continues to teach me that persistence and learning truly make a difference.

Thank you to this community for creating a space where creatives can keep growing and moving forward.

Warm regards,

Charmane Wedderburn

Love this, Charmane. That shift from "learning" to "creating" is such a real milestone—and you're living it. The photo thing made me laugh because same. It's wild how a small thing like that feels like a big step at first. Congrats on the book signing and the short film! What's the next thing you're nervous-excited about?

Charmane Wedderburn

Thank you, Sam — I really appreciate that.

Right now I’m both nervous and excited about the upcoming short film we’re preparing to shoot, as well as a book signing event ahead.

Both feel like meaningful steps forward creatively, and I’m learning a lot through the process.

It’s encouraging to be part of a community where growth is supported step by step.
