This week, it's my daughter's song, Chasing Signs.
In fact, I decided to create a video inspired by Remarkably Bright Creatures and feature her song because it just seemed to fit. The idea kept following me around, and the song wouldn't leave my head.
The video isn't finished yet, but I'll share it when it is.
What about you?
Is there a song you've been listening to—or thinking about lately—that just won't let go?

There's this song that played in Forever21 over a decade ago already that I've never been able to find, doesn't help that the lyrics I remember probably aren't correct, either...
Banafsheh Esmailzadeh Hum a few bars for me. I'm really good at detective work.

One song that has always inspired me ever since I first heard it is "Building A Mystery" by Sarah McLachlan. Both the musical chords in that song as well as the lyrics are so moving and magical.

I have taken a detour this past year from scoring to co-write now five songs with a wonderful lyricist (love all her lyrics). The last two are: https://soundcloud.com/joelirwin/two-become-one and https://soundcloud.com/joelirwin/together-we-will-rise. As the most recent is a gospel piece, I have created some charts and am looking around baptist churches here in Houston to find one that will perform it live.
These melodies will stick in your head!

I really like Bruno Mars new tune, Risk it all (for you).
It’s well written, falls in the ole’ Latin style, and the
String / TPT orchestration is really great.
I like the way the strings “ rush into the” TPT part at the end. Yes it’s well timed, though I like this phrase because it seems like strings are rushing into the Trumpet part.
Lots of emotions too - great story behind what Bruno wrote.
