SO why not just start another small studio in the same vein as Pixar ?
That would be nice. But Pixar has a huge reputation for good stories. It would take a lot of work for that to happen I think.

A good friend of mine who lives in Los Angeles works with the San Francisco division of Pixar and tells me everyone wants to work at Pixar... it's never good news to hear of a branch closing, especially with a company that has such a strong following and with so many people who love what they do.

Indeed, a good reputation is everything in this business. When things go downhill for a company like that, we have a problem.
