LoglineA man’s life unfolds entirely through his own eyes, from infancy to old age, where every step, gesture, and detail conveys his journey, his losses, his love, and the continuation of life through his son.
SYNOPSIS:
The Path tells the story of a man’s entire life through a POV perspective, allowing the audience to see the world entirely through his eyes, hands, and senses. The film begins with a newborn’s POV in a cradle, bathed in soft light and accompanied by the mother’s lullaby. We follow him as he grows: a toddler cooing in the fields, sitting on a three-wheeled bike at age three, riding bigger bikes at ages five and seven, and walking with a backpack—all captured through subtle POV transitions.Youth is depicted with higher rhythm: driving a car at night, walking quickly through city streets, and experiencing his first encounters with love. The girl is never fully seen, only heard through whispers and laughter, making her presence felt without visual exposition. Later, POV shifts to a boat with his family, where a wedding ring symbolizes life’s peak. As he ages, the POV slows: riding a horse, medallion and missing ring hint at loss and solitude, and finally entering a dark forest, contemplative and reflective. The story culminates in the continuation of life through his son, shown climbing a cliff from the boy’s POV, holding the inherited hiking stick, mirroring his father’s gestures. The final shot shows the boy looking up at a soaring eagle, the camera rising into the expansive sky, symbolizing freedom, life, and the legacy that continues into the next generation. The Path portrays the flow of human life, rhythm, detail, and symbolism, where a straight path becomes both literal and metaphorical—a journey carried forward.
