Hi! My name is Susanne Leist and I've published my first book, The Dead Game. It's a paranormal thriller with plenty of mystery and romance. I am here to make new connections. I've been told that my book would make a good movie but I have no idea how to proceed with that.
Hi Susanne and congratulations for your success. I read the beginning of your book. You are a great writer, indeed. Could you possibly give me some advice on how to publish a book? if you tell me how you did it yourself, it would be great. Many thanks in advance.

Congrats on your published book. Now, write the movie script for it. After first draft, get feedback and then rewrite, rewrite, rewrite. Don't pitch the first draft nor the second draft.., pitch the 12th draft, the 15th draft, and so on.

Expand commentCongratulations too.. your story is so similar to mine, humble and hard. I also self published with Xlibris.UK, and had to do all my own marketing. Its been very hard and Im also on Barnes and Amazon. Ive only been an author for 3 years now. When I first hit the media in my home town, directors tried to commission my book for $100. Luckily I was wise and turned them down. I would love to film my book some day, either myself (Im learning everything I can about film making and using my knowledge to make short films and edit them myself), or with a professional director who wont steal my work. I like the idea Pulu put forward, to learn about script writing. Im keeping my eyes on all the posts and bloggs posted about script writing, and will give it a try as soon as I can. Im also trying to finish my second book in the series I first published, but its hard finding time for all my projects. Im still a high school student. Ive been exchanging signed copies of books with other published author friends on fb, and so far my collection is growing. Its so cool reading and sharing each others work, especially seeing as they live in UK and USA, and me in South Africa. Well, anyway, best wishes and its nice reading your posts. :) Kimi

Thanks everyone for your support and suggestions. I just began to write the sequel to my book. I will have it edited and proof read. And I will edit over and over again. After it's published, I will look into converting the books into a screenplay. Who knows? They might do well as books.
