What could possibly bring together a Priest, a cop, a guitarist, a nurse, ...etc ..in fact, different professions, from different ethnicity: let's say african, american, asian, etc...all under the same roof!! No age barrier and they could be married or not. A simple but really different and unique concept, not the orthodox and the traditional start-up plots we see often in horror films, example is the concept of Evil dead; there are always a group of youngstars going on picnics or vacations in some sick hunted house blah blah blah...and the rest of most horror feature films. Please, feel free to drop a concept, or a view that can help me, it might go a long way to born a great concept. Thanks... I anticipate your comments. Cheers.
Thanks Chris... Will consider that option... GOD_BLESS

Expand commentNone of this means anything, of course, without a compelling conflict for them to deal with, once they've gathered. Getting five people from different walks of life in a room together is one thing; what happens to them once they're in there is another - and that's the premise. No premise is mentioned in this thread.
Just curious - when you get a script request, do you continue to pitch that script to others or wait to hear back from the one who requested it? What is the protocol? I haven't double pitched yet, but I have two scripts that have been requested, and wasn't sure if I should continue to pitch those two, or continue to pitch my other projects...
Continue to pitch!!! it may be 2-3 months until they get back to you. Besides, the best thing that could happen is you get ANOTHER company interest and now you create a bidding war situation. ABP - always be pitching. Until someone pays you or gives you a contract!
Keep pitching it until someone pays you money for it.
Thanks everyone!
Would it be bad of me to do a British soldier perspective on the war? I don't like how we are portrayed as completely evil by Hollywood.
instead of the invincible protagonists hollywood dishes out.
Love the concept. You have this Merkin's permission to proceed.
that's right, some examples again there is nothing new that hasn't already been done, just a different dressing on it. like brave heart, Mel didn't get to keep the girl and live happily ever,
A preacher new to booming cattle town straddles the fence between vengeance and forgiveness after his family is killed when he is mistaking to be a rogue gang member.
Setting new bounderies in his faith, a preacher experiences just how wild the west really is after watching his family killed by an intransigent gang leader.
Just tryin to find the right combo without being too long. I think around 25 words is the unsaid mark. Thanks for your input

(Think red sash gang etc) the gang leader sends someone in to kill the preacher and his family but only succeeds in killing the family not knowing this was not the right family. The one who did it was caught by sherriff but released due to the corrupt influence Gang leader has over government officials in the area. Then we see the preacher fight against his faith with each step towards revenge for his family.

I've only been a 32er for about a month, but already I'm becoming appalled at some of the egos flying around this site, especially in the Screenwriting Lounge... Is it just me? I thought we were here to help each other, provide constructive criticism, not blatant disrespect.
Just sayin', this is my new favorite thread. No snark; you guys are impassioned and entertaining as hell. Anybody coming to Shriekfest, I owe you a drink, no lie. Blessings on you all.

I thought my script about a tornado hitting a Tiger sanctuary here in Tennessee was a great idea. No it's not called Tigernado. But I've never heard a kind expression about it. It sucks, now I know why. But that's not what I want to say here. You have unique perspective on the other side of writing. The other day I thought of the funniest story ever. and you can help me either make it funnier if you have a sense of humor or support the insanity of a script reader. I am going to start a new thread called script readers to explain the concept. Hope you'll look for it.
It's more all subjective than a crap shoot. Some people really love sitting and watching big machines punch each other, some people like watching aging retired wrestlers give it one last go as a final goodbye to a washed and worn life, it is what it is.

Here it is: LOGLINE: This is a dark comedy about Sharon, an unwavering Mormon whose hopes for eternal Mormon glory are dashed when her husband tells her he is gay. But when she stumbles onto a vast Salt Lake City underground of devout Mormons practicing anonymous gay sex, she is forced to reexamine her faith. Any thoughts? I'd love to hear your feedback! thanks, Stephen Williams
Did you find anyone interested in your project?
Kirk, thanks so much for asking. Quite a bit has happened, actually. I'm in initial talks with a production house currently. I have no idea what will happen. But the script seems to be generating a bit of interest.
Thanks for the feedback, Ben. This was posted 8 months ago. Since then I finished my script; it is currently being considered for production. Logline assistance, however, is always welcome.
