Alex Mendelson

Hello my name is Alex Mendelson. I am an Actor, Filmmaker, Director, Producer, Video Editor, & Sound Editor.

I graduated from Ramapo College of New Jersey with Bachelor of Arts in Communication Arts with a focus in Digital Filmmaking. I fell in love with Filmmaking at a very young age. Films like, BRAVEHEART and LAST OF THE MOHICANS were movies that shaped my view on how I wanted to impact others through Media.

When I graduated from college, I realized I had an ability to capture moments behind the camera; moments I knew that would be embedded in the minds of future audiences, but i’m not limited to just that…

I love to Act and Direct actors. It’s one of my greatest passions. Working together with actors to get the best performance is very important for a project’s impact. It requires trust, understanding, and the ability to communicate what’s happening in the script, and bring it to life. Creating character’s and seeing them grow could be a very delicate and beautiful unfolding.

I like the challenge of taking on deep characters and adopting their history to give an accurate portrayal of them. Script Writers, Director’s, & Artists spend a lot of time building characters to be understood and delved into. I love to honor that process.

I am also a problem solver. I like to know what i’m working with and make it work for the benefit of production. College was a important and fundamental experience for me, but to adapt and improve my skills, I taught myself how to utilize Adobe Creative suite. Simply, give me something and I will figure it out.

I pray and hope that we will meet someday and create something amazing. The world needs creatives to push the boundaries. Don’t give up in what you love to do. The world needs it.
