Good meeting you all! I'm Bonnie Maffei. I've been writing scripts since 2005, when my first script won Best Screenplay at the Moondance Film Festival. That really encouraged me to continue writing.
I went on to study screenwriting with lots of great teachers. I was mentored by Chris Soth, the creator of the Mini-Movie-Method. I am also a graduate of the ScreenwritingU ProSeries and the Master Screenwriter Certificate course with Hal Croasmun. Currently, I am in his Binge Worthy TV Bootcamp just completing my One-Hour Sci-Fi Drama Series Pilot, which I will be marketing soon.
My producer, Nuala Quinn-Barton, is currently working on getting funding for several of my scripts. She has access to 80% of the funding and is looking for a partner producer to come up with the remaining 20%. I'd be happy elaborate on any of this, if you're interested.
I'd love to chat with other screenwriters, producers and directors about collaborations, getting projects produced or whatever strikes your fancy!
Ciao!
Bonnie
Ciao, Marcelo! It's a pleasure connecting with you. I hope our paths will cross somewhere along the line.
Greetings,
Bonnie
Hi Bonita, nice to meet you too!
HI Bonita :
It's good to have you in my network. I just finished a dramatic screenplay with elements of fantasy. The first 12 pages of my script can be seen on my profile, if you wish to see it.
All the best,
Tetyana
Hi Adam, great connecting with you here. What are you working on right now? Do you have any favorite genres? Ciao, Bonnie
Hi Bonita, nice to meet you. I'm working on a drama/comedy feature at the moment. I'm re-writing it and hoping to have it completed by end of June. I'm a big fan of understated comedies and dramas. How about yourself?
I'm "Bonnie". I just wanted to reintroduce myself, since I haven't checked in for awhile. I just finished judging the Electric City Film Schenectady Script Competition, and I'm now judging the NYC Midnight Short Story Challenge. I love the work! I just finished judging the Electric City Film Schenectady Script Competition, and I'm now judging the NYC Midnight Short Story Challenge. I love the work! Otherwise, I have been marketing two new comedy scripts, BECOMING PICASSO and FUNERAL FAKERS. You can look them up on IMDB, if you're interested. I'm looking for a director for BP and a producer for FF.
"Becoming Picasso"
Logline: Would you sacrifice your soul for Picasso's talent? On the night of Picasso's death, a mysterious figure traps the master's spirit in a paint box and steals away in search of a suitable host.
"Funeral Fakers"
Logline: After a con artist on the run, inherits her Mafioso grandmother's funeral home, and discovers grandma's still alive, she creates a traveling, covert ops, fake funeral make-over program… operating out of an RV!
Here's a brief bio:
BIO: Maffei's honors include the 2018 Vancouver International Women in Film Festival, Best Screenplay at the 2017 Moondance International Film Festival, and Official Selection at the 2017 L.A. Screenplay Awards. She is a multi-award winning high concept screenwriter, and experienced screenplay contest judge, available as a Writer for Hire.
Hello Bonita, nice to meet you thank you for the invite. Sincerely, Julie Campbell
Thanks for connecting up Bonita! Love Santa Cruz! What type of stories do you write mostly?
Welcome Bonita
Ooops, I was just looking for the execs that do coverage for Stage32... LOL

Great to meet you Stefan! Acting and writing are in my blood, but I've recently really started enjoying the editing process. I love what you guys can do with a film! Good luck with all of your projects!
Welcome to LA! Fantastic that you're already eligible for the Guild. I wish you the best of luck in 2018! What kinds of projects are your three in progress?

Hello ! First, let me wish you an abundance of positive energy. We all deserve it... for having the courage to pursue our dreams, for being here, for believing. Universal energy is limitless - there's plenty for everyone.Me, briefly. I'm a filmmaker based in Los Angeles. I completed an MA and MFA at CSU, Northridge, where I taught for a while in the department of Cinema, Television, and Visual Arts. My passion is short-form animation.
"Ben and Big" is a 38½ minute CGI animated fantasy - yup, for an indie, that's a monster. All good - it's beautiful, in the can, and ready for the 2018 festival circuit. For those who've read this far... a little secret... the film has also been qualified for Academy consideration. So, fingers crossed - many bridges yet to cross, but we are in with a real shot ! Please check out trailer #1 here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lFddP5vs7vA We'd so appreciate a thumbs up and for you to spread the word on your social networks. We're going to need a ton of support.
I'll leave you with the theme from the film. "Behind every teardrop lurks a ravenous evil. We had all better learn to get along, or it will devour us." It's a simple logic - if we don't get past this pandemic of endless prejudice we are doomed to being miserable in each other's company FOREVER. And that's a horrible prospect.
Congrats on the film, that's AWESOME!!!
That is so awesome... about the Academy consideration... and I can see why because this trailer is really good! Congrats! I am positive you will do great!
Oh this is fun

I am also a screenwriter and actor. I’m in development on two series, a docuseries about songwriting and a superhero web series called Less Than Super, and am about to co-write and costar in another web series.
I love networking with other filmmakers in the south, specifically in Nashville, as well as with other female filmmakers. I’m available to travel and work on anyone’s project as an AD or VTP. And if anyone is in development and looking for new projects, let’s talk.

Expand commentCiao Bonita,

Nice to meet you too! I checked out the search, and it seems like Liliana Angela Angeleri has some interesting e-books on Amazon. Have you read any of her work before?

Ne ho composto anche la sceneggiatura, in italiano e in inglese.
Chi la vuole produrre? I costi sono molto bassi.
