THE DEAD SEA KING
By Dwayne Pagnotto

GENRE: Adventure, Fantasy
LOGLINE:

In 1665, a fearless pirate captain's crew is stolen by the Dead Sea King. After he's saved from drowning by an equally heroic female stowaway, the two of them face the Kraken, the Dead Sea King's skeleton crew, bat-winged harpies, demonic insects, lusty tavern patrons, and the Dead Sea King himself as they set out to save the captain's men before they can cross over into the land of shadows. All the while dealing with their own stormy relationship.

Good start, Dwayne & you have a ton of fun stuff to play with here! I would consider streamlining this a bit, first bearing in mind that a logline should be max two sentences. Consider, too, the following super helpful formula when writing your logline: (When) protagonist + inciting incident + (they must) obstacle + (or else) stakes.

ie: "When a killer shark unleashes chaos on a beach community, it's up to a local sheriff, a marine biologist, and an old seafarer to hunt the beast down."

I hope that's helpful & again, good start!

Dwayne Pagnotto

Thank you so much Angela. I truly appreciate yer wonderful and heartfelt advice, that's very sweet of you. And truthfully, I knew it was way too long when I posted it. But how do you take something with action, adventure, romance, foul monsters, humor, love, magic and a healthy handful of stout hearts and heroic souls, and pare it down to just two little sentences? I know, it has to be done...lol. It's just trying to figure out which parts to highlight and which parts to let speak for themselves when the time is right? But, I will find a way. But thanks again for yer helpful words. Much appreciated. Take care.

If the "Dead Sea King" is a fantasy element, that needs to be indicated.

Thanks Steve.

Sean Milligan

Cool title.

Dwayne Pagnotto

Thanks for that Sean. Much appreciated. The title is two-fold of course. To let interested parties know that the screenplay involves the sea, the undead, pirates of course, and mostly, adventure. Sorta peak their interest.
