Hello Katrina. It's a pleasure to meet you. Congrats on the successes you've had so far.Way to go!
And thank you for the add.

And I need you people to help me.
I have the pilot already written, and the second episode as well. Plus I have six fully detailed follow-up episodes, and four briefly outlined closing episodes to bring the series to its season finale. Plus I have the series bible as well. So all that is covered.
So basically,I just need someone to tell me, what they will ask to see, and what i will need to show them. What things will the agent likely ask me. I have heard that he may already have a producer he' connected with, in which case they may wish to see what i got.
What should i look out for and be aware of. And what things should i or shouldn't i do? You don't need to answer all these questions,I'll take what i can get.
However, a just a brief idea of what i can expect would be a great help.
I apologize if this is in the wrong lounge, but i do not know where else to turn. So i am asking you my friends to please help me. I've posted something like this before and not a single person bothered replying.
Please do not make me go thru that again. You're my friends, i need your help, this is why we are all here, so please do not disappoint me again.
Thanks everyone.

Expand commentMaureen Mahon is absolutely right! The management company that I worked at for years had a policy of not even continuing the conversation if the financing wasn't in place because we couldn't approach a client with a project that wasn't far enough along to be seriously considered. Especially if they're a client who is constantly working and likely has a number of other projects in consideration that are fully financed and ready to go.
I also agree with Maureen Mahon & Jack Binder - managers are way better to approach than agents with projects at this phase - if you don't have other elements attached or financing, letting them know...
Expand commentI also agree with Maureen Mahon & Jack Binder - managers are way better to approach than agents with projects at this phase - if you don't have other elements attached or financing, letting them know they are getting a first-look can be helpful. Also, be open to sharing - agents cannot produce by law but managers can so it may help to let the manager know that you are open to them producing with you if Steven responds to the material. That may give them an extra incentive to take a look and could lead you to a producing partner with relationships that help. Also, I recommend watching Wright's short film, THE APPOINTMENTS OF DENNIS JENNINGS, which he won an Oscar for if you haven't already, and then reference how much you like the film (assuming you do)... any type of personal connection to his work may also strike a cord. Just thoughts to consider, Dwayne Pagnotto.

But, now that i see everything the agent or manager may ask to see, or wish to know that i have, i may as well not bother. I don't have a pitch deck, a series bible is what i have. I do not have any kind of video made of it or anything else, that includes no financing. So I'm sure they'd turn me down right outta the gate.
Oh well, it was just an idea. Bad idea i guess....lol.
Thanks again everyone, for trying to help. It really meas a lot to me.
Take care.

One of the first of the ambient genre to hook me was David Bowie's "The Mysteries", from there Brian Eno, Grabek, and many others.

I'm just here to connect and seek help and guidance like most others. I've got one screenplay under my belt, along with a sitcom pilot, a romantic-reality-TV game show, called romancing New York. A series bible to go with the TV pilot and an episode of Seinfeld I wrote like a year ago.
I'm presently working on my second screenplay, plus I am also trying to get my second book of poetry published. If you feel like it, give me a shout out, or just go right ahead and add me to yer network. The more the merrier, right?
Some of my art and videos can be seen on my profile.Well, that's about it for now I guess. See you newbies on the boards sometime.
Peace.
Hey Maurice, how are you doing my dear friend? I hope yer holiday season is going well for you. Hi Richard, good hearing from you as well. Got all yer shopping done yet? Hope so...hehehe. Well, good hearing from you both. See ya around sometime. Take care and Merry Christmas!

I have been seriously considering approaching Steven Wright, or his agent, manager or whoever I gotta go thru to get to him, with an offer to see if he'd be interested in playing the voice of my cat Jingles in my TV pilot. But I need to know what I'm in for.
What kind of questions will I be asked by whoever represents him. If he is interested in doing it, what kind of deal can I look forward to being offered? What should I look out for? Are there little traps I should be aware of so that I do fall into them? And how should I respond to each separate question, offer or proposal that is made to me?
And I'm sorry if I am stepping on some toes here, but I need to make money in a hurry. I can no longer wait, and I cannot pick out an agent or a literary manager until I get a larger portfolio, so I need you people to serve as my temporary agent for now until I can find a suitable one to represent me.
Thanks everyone.
You're welcome, Dwayne Pagnotto. Hope Steven Wright agrees to voice Jingles in your TV pilot. Take care and have a great weekend too, my friend.
I don't have answers for you Dwayne Pagnotto I have never negotiated a contract. Have you checked the education tab to see if there is a webinar on this topic?

Two things. First, I helped produce a short film which was a vanity project for a very wealthy person. They wanted a name to be attached to it. We were talking to Frank Langella and Cherry Jones at the time and were going to pay $15K for an 8-hour shoot out them for the two scenes (the role was written asexual, and was more about gravitas) We got traction on both, but schedules didn't work out. So that is to say, money can be the great motivator, though not for everyone, obviously. just be prepared to show up with a decent offer and be able to work around them.
Second, I found a few webinars and a class that you might find helpful. If you use promo code ALIST40 you can get 40% off any of the below for the next week. I hope that helps!

There is another place where I can post this same question and get plenty of answers from real agents and other people in the entertainment industry. But I figured you all would not help me. Every time in my life I have tried to better my situation, there is always someone or something there stopping me from moving forward. I know, you all have relationships with agents on here, and so you cannot help me for fear of offending them, I get it. But it's ok. I will get answers I am looking for, I promise you that. But in any case, take care and have a great day. Peace.

If i was acting as my own agent, would I need to ask the party who was buying the the screenplay from me, to be allowed an option to purchase into the rights to profit from the sale of that merchandise, or is that something that would automatically go along with the sale of the screenplay, and thus be mine anyway as the screenwriter?

Expand commentWell, thanks very much for that sir. I am indeed highly honored to receive such words from a man of your caliber. And what yer telling me is good to hear, because this movie is going to be iconic, and i know it will not just settle for remaining in movie theaters....lol.
I am basically just starting out in the realm of screenwriting, and am now in the process of developing my portfolio. To date, I have one Television Pilot, called The Magic of Jingles, which is in a contest now on another site. A second episode to go along with the pilot. A series bible that develops the pilot more fully, including ten other episodes that brings the show to the season finale.
I also have a game show that i have created called Romancing New York. Plus i have written a new Episode for the TV show Seinfeld, which is probably my favorite TV series of all time.
And last, but certainly not least, is the movie i mentioned, my life's work, the actual screenplay that i was asking the question about. A swashbuckling action-adventure epic called, "The Dead Sea King."
As good as it is, it clocks in at about 300 pages. And although i have tried and am trying now to shave it down, it's extremely hard for me to do so, without removing some key elements which go a long way towards making the movie be all it can possibly be.
But of course no one will touch it until then, and so i am stuck trying to do something with it, which i know eventually, I will....lol.
But thanks again for yer lovely comments sir, and the encouragement. It definitely helps.
Be well.
