In 1665, a fearless pirate captain's crew is stolen by the Dead Sea King. After he's saved from drowning by an equally heroic female stowaway, the two of them face the Kraken, the Dead Sea King's skeleton crew, bat-winged harpies, demonic insects, lusty tavern patrons, and the Dead Sea King himself as they set out to save the captain's men before they can cross over into the land of shadows. All the while dealing with their own stormy relationship.
