Great article! Thank you. I have a few questions for you. When you say package, do you mean logline, premise, 1 - 2 page synopsis, beat sheet, 1st ten pages of script and treatment? And I don't know where to begin looking for "various film financing companies, private investors, and grant programs" besides google. Is there a site that would make my research easier? Thanks again for posting Andrew.
I would recommend going to LinkedIn. They have a lot of good ways to find good contacts for business purposes. I found one that way. I didn't write the article though I appreciate the thanks.
This is a great article and the principles of fundraising have stood the test of time! I’m going to re-share in the Financing/Crowdfunding Lounge in February.
Good article but it does leave me some questions though and the main one would e how do you get a talent interested in the project? What kind of package do you send them via their manager or PR person? Just the script? Pitch deck? both?
Hi Brian Hickman this class may be relevant to your question. You can also ask your questions in the Producing or Directors Lounge. It is my understanding that there are multiple ways to recruit top talent. Agents will usually forward a script provided that the actors’ compensation is guaranteed in one form or another. Anyway, here is the link and don’t hesitate to ask in another Lounge! https://www.stage32.com/webinars/How-To-Write-Characters-Top-Talent-Will...

What a great idea, Colette "ByFilms" Byfield! What a great idea, mining for resources in old posts - you're the best!

I really love that we can search for pertinent info. Facebook can’t do that, lol Karen "Kay" Ross!
