Is there comprehensive film credits database where you can look up the Line Producer for a given film? So far, I've tried IMDb Pro and The Numbers. But they seem to focus on "producer" generically or on executive producer, associate producer, co-producer titles.

On a bigger budget show, the UPM is separate and is a DGA position. There are producers who are also in the DGA who take that title as well so they can stay on the residuals and insurance if the DGA for the show. If this is the case, they may hire a Production Supervisor (non DGA). If a tv show has a few seasons, the UPM may also get a co-producer title. You can go to DGA.org to look up UPMS and some will list their credits and you can see if they are also a Producer. But you are right, most writers ALSO get a producer credit- so if those two titles are combined, they are most likely not the Line Producer. It is a bit challenging when producer is throw around to so many positions!

Here's a link to a blog that just went up on the new Stage 32 Certification Program, which offers workforce training to give people specific tools to get hired on set. There are amazing courses here that teach Line Producer/UPM skills. Whenever somebody passes a certification course they will be listed in a database accessible by local film commissions and production companies anywhere in the world to be considered for employment on shoots: https://www.stage32.com/blog/3518
