Introduce Yourself : My specific brand / casting by Lexi Graboski

Lexi Graboski

My specific brand / casting

Hi! My name is Lexi Graboski and I'm an actress in Los Angeles. I've worked in theater, children's touring, college improv workshops, web series, horror films, and now television! My most recent credit hasn't aired yet so my lips are sealed, but I was lucky to work with some pretty heavy hitters.

I'm also exploring other US markets and since I'm reaching out to industry contacts again I am getting more and more specific with my materials. I recently did a branding workshop and this is what we came up with: I'm the badass achiever disguised as a stylish and uppity perfectionist. It can work for protagonists or antagonists. It's a lot more specific than "the girl next door." What do you think? Does that phrase help you place me in a story?

Hello, Lexi! While I'd love to give you some advice, perhaps suggest subtle tweaks to your badass "girl next door" upgrade, about all I can provide is kudos! Great job!

In my opinion, it's spot-on; it places you in a specific story and then your reel both reinforces it and also shows range beyond that. My personal favorite as an actor/director is the "don't compare me to an animal" clip. Whatever emotional space you were in when you shot that, it rang very true.

Karen "Kay" Ross

I definitely think the specificity helps your brand! Or maybe round out your brand? I'm not seeing "girl next door" in this picture, but I can see it in some of your others. In this, you're giving me menacing Jennifer Garner vibes!

Also, I'd love to hear more about what you learned about branding! How did you figure out your "badass achiever disguised as a stylish and uppity perfectionist" line?

Kinney Scott

nice to know this info okay
