What if stories could make time move? | Writer introducing Rojin no Mon

Hi everyone!

I'm Kaye. I love crafting emotionally resonant, high-concept stories that blend speculative elements with human truths.

Currently, I’m developing a philosophical sci-fi fantasy called Rojin no Mon (The Gate of the Elder), set in a near-future Japan.

Logline:

An aging man in a society that discards the elderly discovers a mysterious door that leads to a timeless world where no one ages past forty — and where stories are forgotten. But through his memories and love, he begins to change a world that believes it needs no change.

It explores themes of memory, emotional aging, and the fear of love in a world without death. Think Coco meets The Giver, with a Japanese aesthetic and a slow-burn emotional core.

I’m here to connect with filmmakers, animators, and producers who believe in thought-provoking, heart-driven storytelling.

If this resonates with you — let’s talk!

Would love to collaborate or simply share ideas and inspiration.

What are you working on? I’d love to know.

Hi, Kaye Sereneveil. Rojin no Mon sounds exciting and unique! And a story that takes place in a near-future Japan sounds interesting! I'm looking forward to watching this!

I'm doing rewrites on a feature script I was hired to ghostwrite, rewriting two feature scripts, and outlining a feature.

Kaye Sereneveil

Thank you so much, Maurice Vaughan ! That means a lot. Yep, I love blending near-future tech with human drama, let’s see where it goes! And wow, sounds like your plate is full! Best of luck with all your rewrites, sending creative energy your way!

Maurice Vaughan

You're welcome, Kaye Sereneveil. Thanks. Sending creative energy your way too! Keep us posted on your script. And your post reminds me of a script idea I came up with. It's a Sci-Fi Horror Comedy. I need to finish outlining the script.

Wyman Brent

Kaye Sereneveil, what an amazing idea. That is a wonderful twist that I have not heard before. I would definitely like to see that on the screen. Let me know if you need any music, or just some encouragement. Thinking of you from here to there.

Michael Dzurak

Hi Kaye Sereneveil. Interesting idea, it reminded me of "Logan's Run" a dystopian sci-fi story in which people past a certain age (well before 'elderly') are eliminated, albeit in an odd religious ritual that makes many of them look forward to it. Except the protagonist, of course, when it's his turn!

Kaye Sereneveil

Thank you so much, Wyman Brent ! Your words truly mean a lot. I appreciate the encouragement and yes, I might just reach out for music someday. It would be wonderful to bring this story to life with passionate creatives like you.

Wishing you all the best from here to there as well!

Kaye Sereneveil

Hi Michael Dzurak Oh yes, Logan’s Run, what a fascinating (and terrifying) concept that was! I love how those kinds of stories explore human control and illusion of choice. Thank you for making that connection. I’m definitely inspired by that type of unsettling, thought-provoking sci-fi.
