Top Gun: Maverick - will the window be 45 or 90?

So, about last night.

Not enough whoa or wow to capture the thrill ride, emotion, nostalgia and boundary of film making pushed when it comes to the flight fight scenes.

Tom Cruise took a long hold position on waiting for the theatrical release.

It was worth it.

My opinion, this film releasing on Memorial Day weekend and officially opening the summer blockbuster season is as good as it gets.

What do you think?

Have you seen / are you planning on seeing in theater / waiting for stream?

The next question is: will Paramount stream this in a 45 day window or traditional 90?

Thoughts and opinions please!

Maurice Vaughan

I'll probably watch the movie on streaming, but side note, your picture made me chuckle.

Rutger Oosterhoff

Cherelynn, put on your fighter pilot sunglasses, it matches better.

Shellie Schmals

I’m planning on seeing this one in the theatre. Those action sequences look amazing, and watching on my laptop won’t do it justice. Love seeing the words “Summer Blockbuster” … the vibe is still alive!

I saw TG on Tuesday. It was fantastic. Happy to see on IMAX.

writers should study how TG writers drop set up and payoffs. Foreshadowing. Very Hollywood formula, and it still works! Ppl at the theater cheered and clapped. (Simple emotional journey).

As for Paramount deciding 45 or 90 window- I dont care. It aint my $$ or job on the line.

I am glad after 4 years on the shelf the movie is finally released!

Personal note: 20 years ago, I worked several music videos with the cinematographer of TG! So happy ppl finally see Claudio's camera work!

Bob Bakish has a 45-day strategy for Paramount overall, but Tom Cruise reportedly insisting on a full 120-day theatrical window for ”Top Gun: Maverick“.

Planning on a view at a drive-in on Sunday (weather). Not a huge fan of TG. It's just a fun night out.

Kiril Maksimoski

I think gonna remain fan of the original one...I was like 7-8 at the time and had kiddo WHOOOA, no subsequent movie can achieve...Kenny Loggins score contributed to that and it was 80s...I mean the real ones :)

"My opinion, this film releasing on Memorial Day weekend and officially opening the summer blockbuster season is as good as it gets." I agree. Theatrical is where it's at. I am curious to see the results, and the W.E.H., Whatever Else Happens, when the Net meets TG. And vice versa...

It's been getting really great reviews.

Great news!

Great fun! Like a big, tasty cotton candy cone.

And popcorn, too.

Amman Mohammed

Flavored popcorn?

E Langley

The best kind; snuck in hand-popped Reddenbacher drowned in plant-based butter with a bit of salt and heaps of nutritional yeast.

Cherelynn Baker

E Langley ...nutritional yeast on popcorn is LIFE!

Paul Rivers

I watched the original TOP GUN the night before I saw TOP GUN MAVRICK in the theater and WOW, it was not only entertaining but emotional. They nailed it.

Paramount could leave TOP GUN MAVRICK in the theaters until AVATAR the AGE of WATER is released.

Amman Mohammed

In a dark theatre, holding a large sized bowl of steaming Popcorn as the O credits roll... Food for thought.

You said it, Sister Cherelynn Baker .
