I feel obligated to point out that when it comes to series bibles, most of the time if you’re making one you’re either getting paid to do one or the company that bought the script is doing it.
The Stranger things guys already had material out and were already getting looks from other places before they put all the effort into the pitch deck that they did.

Hey, Cameron Tendaji. Thanks for commenting. I've also heard that about the guys who came up with "Stranger Things." The "Stranger Things" pitch deck was one of the first pitch decks I saw.
"most of the time if you’re making one you’re either getting paid to do one or the company that bought the script is doing it." I agree, but having a series bible can help a writer pitch their spec project. I pitched a spec TV series before, and it helped that I had a series bible. And without a series bible, it might be hard for a writer to know where their series is "going" (future seasons, character arcs, season arcs, series arc, etc.).

@Maurice Many thanks for share, I’m signed up!
You're welcome, Debbie Croysdale. I've signed up as well.
I don't, Dan MaxXx, but if I find the actual pilot, I'll let you know.

Maurice Vaughan all of that can be done without a series bible. The point is that often times the Duffer bros’ situation/series bible is a popular example and it is often used as the standard when really it unique.
Dan MaxXx Are you talking about this script: https://www.docdroid.net/V7j5NL0/stranger-things-1x01-pilot-pdf

You're right, Cameron Tendaji. All of that can be done without a series bible. I just think having a series bible makes it easy to organize everything and it's something producers, execs, companies, etc. can see, which helps when pitching. And you're right. The Duffer Brothers situation/series bible is unique. It's something to aspire to, but writers should know that it's not the standard/common.
