My new addiction (to go along with double mochas and GLOW) is the new logline section here. Such a cool idea to allow all the writers here the opportunity to list and review. I've learned a couple of things. One, I'm not as bad as I thought when it comes to writing loglines. Two, I have a lot to learn about writing loglines. Having a blast reading so many creative ideas! But I need to go back to writing, er, GLOW!

Hi James. Yeah, I'm enjoying the new feature too! It's great to read through various loglines; see what everybody is working on. Lol! ;) Oh, and I haven't seen GLOW yet, but it's on my list. ;)

I loved GLOW! My favorite line was "Babies are boring! They don't party, they haven't traveled anywhere, and they have no sense of irony!" Yes, loglines are fun too. I run the forum for a site that helps writers workshop them :^}

I dunno. Am I the only one who's a little lost with the sheer volume of loglines in no particular order? I can find mine if I search for a keyword from the title (which prospective producers won't know before going in) BUT I cannot find any of mine if I search for the genre, so there's something not quite working there.
Plus (and I know this is probably being a little picky) but shouldn't there be a link to the actual script (if the script exists) from the logline?
This is obviously designed for a producer who is searching for new material (even though not all the loglines will appear in their search), but for fellow writers to simply look at and grade other writer's loglines, as the email suggested, this is pretty pointless unless you're only interested in the most recent listings and personally, I'm not interested in other people's loglines, I want to see their scripts and I want to give them feedback on their scripts. We've been asking for some sort of script swap utility for years and all we get is loglines.
If S32 wants to promote loglines, why not a logline lounge where people can post their most recent (combined with some sort of search facility)? This new system with its inadequate filter facility is a little daunting. I know there are over fifteen hundred loglines and I couldn't be bothered paging through any further beyond that.

If helpful... "Click here to see genre" is located underneath the search option "Screenplay type/length." It also comes up if scrolling through "Screenplay type/length"—30 Minute TV, 60 Minute TV, Short Film, Feature, Web Series, Other—and you select a choice. ;) Anyway, yeah, please send in your constructive thoughts, what additional features you'd like to see. My understanding is that there is more in the works. ;)
...About an addition or update to the S32 phone app/internet phone use, lemme ask about that. See if I can get some info. ;)

Also... By clicking the blue "Comment/Review" box—one located in every lower, right corner of each and every logline—that takes you directly to that person's profile logline/screenplay page, and thus directly to the script if one has been posted. ;)
...Oh, and you can also make multiple genre selections. After say... selecting "thriller" a blinking cursor appears, you click again, and you then can select more to refine your search. ;)

I've been using the search box to find what I'm looking for.

Hi there, thanks for all the comments about the loglines, here are some quick answers:
1. I understand there's a lot of the loglines on the site, with 60K+ writers, it's to be expected, but with time, best loglines will slowly raise to the top with higher ratings. At this point, I'm not sure if you've noticed, if someone rates or comments on your logline it gets pushed to the top of the queue.
2. Logline browsing, along with few other new features (i.e. video browsing) is not available on the app version, but is accessible on mobile browsers, so if you open Stage 32 on your Safari (or better yet, Chrome), you'll be able to access this on your phone.
3. As Beth pointed out, the search box will allow both writers and (especially) people looking for scripts find exactly what they seek. For instance if I want a horror feature under $1M that involves "demons", then I can look for just that.
Is this it for this section? Of course not. We're always trying to improve every single section of the website and we'll be adding useful features as they are requested. As a matter of fact we have 2 new additions for loglines alone in the pipeline already, so if you have an idea for improving the site in any way, feel free to contact me directly.
I think what would help is to have the filter box before (above) the actual loglines instead of on the side. Upon my first visit, I was overwhelmed right away by the amount of loglines to sift through. Having the filter box above and first seen, I am reminded right away to filter for what I'm looking for. You can use online travel as an example. They first ask you where and when you want to travel. They don't overwhelm you with choices right away because they don't know what you're looking for. In retail, sales associates first asks you what you're looking for or what they can help you with, they don't present you with choices upon first meeting you. I hope that helps :)
Thanks Beth, I was already aware of the filtering, which is why I mentioned it in my comment, but as I also mentioned, the filtering doesn't seem to find everything it should. If I take one of my shorts for instance, Scratch, Scratch, which is listed as Comedy/Horror, I can't find it if I filter on Comedy or Horror or Comedy and Horror. I can only find it if I search for a keyword.
Is it because it's old and when it was first listed certain options weren't available such as budget, etc?
